Signing Up for Another 2 Years

Yesterday while I was in the general office I was called into the principal's office. Not to worry, I wasn't in trouble. My principal told me that she has my new contract and it's ready to be signed. The last time I signed my contract, I just signed it and didn't have to have any conversation with my previous principal. But with this principal she wanted a little chat.

She went through my contract with me. There's a clause in my contract that said I couldn't work outside school unless I get permission from the school. And I laughed and told her, don't worry, I'm kinda a tad too lazy to work outside school. But what came next, brought a huge smile to my face. My principal took time to thank me for working hard for the school and she said that she really appreciate the hard work that I put in for the school. I was kinda surprised. I wouldn't say that I'm the most hardworking teacher in the school. I do what I'm told and what I have to do and sometimes I stay a little later but not much later after work to complete some stuff. Anyway, it was nice for someone to tell me that I'm appreciated.

So I signed my contract and yes, two more years in Hong Kong and we'll see what's going to happen next!

So there are days that I want to blog and I stop because mainly, there's just too much in my head that I want to write. And honestly, I don't even know how to categorize it. When Friends Become Family

As I've mentioned in my last blog, a friend in need called me for help. It got me thinking about friends. Over the years, I've spent and am still spending time away from Singapore and my family. And it's especially that when I'm away from family that friends become family to me. I met Eve when I was doing my undergraduate studies in Gold Coast, Australia. I spent a lot of time with her. We used to go out all the time. Dinners, clubbing and just hanging out. When I lost contact with her, it did break my heart. I met Stanley when I was like 6 in Sunday School. It was all in God's plan that he went to Brisbane to do his undergraduate studies as well. My Cousins

I was watching Channelnewsasia last night. They had a program about an extended family that lives together. While watching that, I was reminded of my own extended family and my cousins. Just a couple of days ago, Sharon, my cousin in States, restarted the Sim Cousins email circle. She started it when her dad was sick and now it's restarted. I remembered when we were kids living in Pandan Gardens, Uncle Albert's family (Sharon's family) was just living next block. I'd go over all the time to play with Sharon and Morgan. Morgan was like my partner in crime. I love him to the bits! We used to sit in a corner and share our woes...yes, we had our woes at that time!
